ResortInternet Installs and Activates TV Service in Vail

FRISCO, CO - Dec 18, 2009 - ResortInternet, the premier provider of digital guest amenities for Colorado's destination resort properties, announced today that it has installed and activated its first satellite based TV System in Vail, and has contracts to install four more satellite based TV systems before the end of the year.

Since starting business operations in the spring of 2003 in the Keystone Resort area in Colorado, ResortInternet now provides its digital guest amenities in 150 resort properties in Colorado's destination ski resort areas; covering the geographical area from Winter Park to Aspen.

Eric Geis, President; stated "With the introduction of our 100% digital crystal-clear TV Service we can now offer bundled services at discounted prices to the resort lodging industry. When we announced we would be offering TV Service and Digital Video Surveillance Systems to our existing High Speed Internet Service (HSIS) many of our customers expressed an immediate interest. As our backlog for satellite TV Systems continues to increase, it shows that there is a strong desire for TV options other than currently being provided by the local cable company. For example, we can provide more than 55 High Definition TV channels which are more than 3 times what the local cable company can provide!"

He added: "For the first time, ResortInternet, with its local presence in Colorado's resort communities, provides viable competition for TV service for resort properties to what is currently available. And in most cases, we can save our customers money on their TV service and with more programming options. And since all of our TV service is 100% digital end-to-end, viewers will see a clearer sharper picture- even on older televisions!

Geis went on; "While our first few TV Service lodge properties are existing HSIS customers, we have been asked for bundled proposals from many non-customer properties and as word continues to spread regarding our TV service, we expect this trend to continue."

ResortInternet Expands WiMax Wireless Network to Breckenridge

FRISCO, CO - May 8, 2009 - ResortInternet, the premier provider of high speed Internet service ("HSIS") to Colorado's destination resort properties, announced today that it has successfully expanded its wireless backbone network to now also cover Breckenridge using WiMax (wireless) technology equipment.

Since starting business operations in the spring of 2003 in the Keystone Resort area in Colorado, ResortInternet now has over 6,500 HSIS in 150 resort properties in Colorado's destination ski resort areas; covering the geographical area from Winter Park to Aspen.

According to Eric Geis, President; "As our business has continued to grow in Summit County and with the continuing demand for more and faster bandwidth by our users, we made the decision to become a facilities based high speed Internet provider last year. The decision was the right one and with the coverage of Breckenridge with our wireless network, we now cover almost 90% of all of Summit County with our own extremely reliable wireless bandwidth and network."

Bernie Reynoso, VP of Engineering and Customer Support; added "We were so pleased with the performance and reliability of our WiMax Network which we installed last year, that we have progressively expanded our wireless network coverage of Summit County. We had done considerable research and evaluation of different technology options before deploying WiMax equipment, and it is rewarding to see that the performance and reliability of our wireless backbone met our expectations."

He added; "In addition, we have greater abilities to electronically monitor and remotely manage what is happening in our network and thereby provide a better user experience, since we now control the bandwidth. Also the WiMax equipment we installed uses a different frequency than most WiSPs (Wireless ISPs) that has little to no interference thus allowing us to provide a much better quality of service to our customers."

ResortInternet Acquires Kiva Networks Summit County Business

FRISCO, CO - February 26, 2009 - ResortInternet, the premier provider of digital guest amenities to Colorado's destination resort properties, announced today the acquisition of Kiva Networks Summit County business. The effective date of the transaction will be March 1, 2009.

Eric Geis President of ResortInternet stated; "Kiva Networks had developed a small but important WiFi (wireless) High Speed Internet Service (HSIS) customer base in the Breckenridge ski resort area, which complimented our larger customer base in Breckenridge and Summit County. The acquisition of Kiva's Breckenridge business was a logical decision for us and will add about 10% to our supported base of 6,000 condo Units in Colorado's destination resorts. In addition, it gives us strategic leverage and it expands our market for our other product lines including Digital and HDTV television, Digital Video Surveillance, and Digital Phone Service."

Kiva Networks, a Broomfield Colorado based company conducts business in several Colorado areas as well as on the East Coast. In Breckenridge, Kiva was providing service to 5 upscale resort lodging properties. Bob Letson President of Kiva stated: "Since ResortInternet has a much larger base of business in Summit County, and more local resources than we do, this will be a great fit and will benefit our customers in Breckenridge, since ResortInternet will have the ability to respond more quickly to user issues. He added; "This transaction makes sense for Kiva and our WiFi users."

Geis continued: "Kiva's WiFi business model, primarily a "guest fee for WiFi usage", is in contrast to our business model which is primarily "free to guests". It shows that there is an interest and need for both models, and gives us a larger target market to pursue to continue the expansion of our digital guest amenity product line."

Since starting its High Speed Internet Service (HSIS) operations in the spring of 2003 in Keystone, Colorado, ResortInternet has grown rapidly and by the end of 2008, was providing its digital guest amenities to almost 6,000 condo units in over 150 resort properties in Colorado's destination ski resort areas; covering the area from Winter Park to Aspen.

ResortInternet Installs WiMax Equipment to Cover Keystone Valley Properties

FRISCO, CO - August 15, 2008 - ResortInternet, the premier provider of high speed Internet service (HSIS) to Colorado's destination resort properties, announced today that it has successfully installed and activated and is now providing its services using new WiMax (wireless) technology equipment at Keystone.

Since starting business operations in the spring of 2003 in the Keystone Resort area in Colorado, ResortInternet now has over 5,600 HSIS in 150 resort properties in Colorado's destination ski resort areas; covering the geographical area from Winter Park to Aspen.

According to Eric Geis, President; "After considerable technical and market research and analysis, we made the strategic decision to become a facilities-based high speed Internet provider, so that we could provide more reliable and higher quality bandwidth to our current and future customers. Our Company's rapid growth over the last 5 years clearly indicated that we needed to have control of the bandwidth, rather than rely on 3rd parties for this important piece of our complete cost-effective and reliable service offerings.

Bernie Reynoso, VP of Engineering and Customer Support; added "With our installation and activation of WiMax technology, which is a very new technology, we can provide dramatically increased bandwidth speeds and have more opportunities to expand our product line to include Digital Phone Service (VoIP), advanced entertainment services, video security and other exciting new services. In addition, we have greater abilities to electronically monitor and remotely manage what is happening in our network and thereby provide a better user experience, since we now control the bandwidth. Also the WiMax equipment deployed uses a different frequency than most WiSPs(Wireless ISPs) that has little to no interference thus allowing us to provide a much better quality of service to our customers."

Geis continued, "While we introduced WiMax at Keystone, which was our first operating market 5 years ago, we have aggressive plans for deploying WiMax wireless service at several of our other service areas over the next 18 months. We believe we are one of the first Internet Service Providers to install and operate WiMax in any resort area of Colorado.

ResortInternet Installs 5,000th High Speed Internet Customer

DENVER, CO - November 5, 2007 - ResortInternet, the premier provider of high speed Internet service (HSIS) to Colorado destination resort properties, announced today that it has installed its 5,000th high speed Internet subscriber.

Since starting business operations in the spring of 2003 in the Keystone Resort area in Colorado, ResortInternet now has over 5,000 HSIS in 150 resort properties in Colorado's destination ski resort areas; covering the geographical area from Winter Park to Aspen.

According to Eric Geis, President; "Our Company's rapid success over the last 4 1/2 years is clear validation of our Company's vision that condo owners in resort areas need and want reliable, cost-effective high speed Internet service for their resort or 2nd home. Their need to "stay-in-touch" while on vacation and to make their property more competitive in the rental and re-sale markets have fueled our growth. Homeowners and guests staying at Colorado's top tier resorts expect reliable high speed Internet service and responsive support when needed and they get that superior level of service from ResortInternet."

He added, "Every one of our HSIS contracts which have come up for renewal has been renewed! ResortInternet Expands Business Model to New Construction

DENVER, CO - July 20, 2007 - ResortInternet, the premier provider of high speed Internet service (HSIS) to Colorado destination resort properties, announced today that it has signed agreements with two newly constructed lodges in Summit County, where it will provide its WiFi High Speed Internet Service to homeowners and guests. These 2 additional properties bring the total number of resort properties served in Colorado by ResortInternet to 150.

The two new lodges include; Blue Sky Breckenridge with convenient ski-in location in Breckenridge to open early this Fall and Timberline Cove with spectacular views of Dillon Lake and the Ten Mile Range which just opened.

According to Eric Geis ResortInternet's founder and President, "Traditionally, we have installed our reliable High Speed Internet Service in lodges which are already constructed and occupied, but we have witnessed a radical change, since we started the company in 2003! Now we find developers actually designing our WiFi systems into their new properties in the concept phase."

HOA's and Property Management Companies often ask, "When is the best time to install High Speed Internet Service in our condominium property?" It is best and most cost-effective to plan our High Speed Internet Service into the buildings design and easiest to install while the building is still in construction. However, installation is not the only factor in making it easier. Developers have found that it can be an easy decision for them, since today's 2nd home buyers make their buying decision on the amenities a resort property offers, and High Speed Internet Service is one of the most sought after features in new properties. For the Sales Department wireless High Speed Internet Service provides another amenity that potential homeowners are looking for.

In addition to WiFi and wired equipment installation ResortInternet, is well known for providing ongoing cost-effective and reliable High Speed Internet Service, which includes its 24 hour direct help line and continuous electronic monitoring to ensure satisfied homeowners and guests.

ResortInternet Expands its Wireless (WiFi) High Speed Internet Service in Snowmass

These 2 additional properties bring to nine the total number of resorts properties served in the Snowmass Village area by ResortInternet.

As in the other Colorado destination resorts where it provides its cost-effective reliable HSIS, 2nd homeowners and guests not only expect but often demand HSIS in their condos while on vacation. A recent Intel corporate survey shows that more than 53% of all travelers take their computers on vacation- and this number is expected to grow dramatically over the next few years, since guests who can "stay in touch" while on vacation tend to take more vacations and stay longer.

The two new Condominium Hotels signing Agreements are Chamonix and Enclave Condominiums, both managed by Snowmass Lodging Company and supported by Dan DiMaria, Systems Administrator. Dan said "the deciding factors in selecting ResortInternet were their accessibility, their local technical staff and their focus on customer support when it's needed by our homeowners and guests". He continued, "they came in and talked with us to ensure they knew what we wanted, conducted a comprehensive site survey, and gave us a very cost-effective Proposal. I was impressed. I spoke with other property managers in Snowmass Village and Aspen served by ResortInternet and in all cases- their references and comments were outstanding!"

According to Eric Geis ResortInternet's founder and President, "every one of our employees is extremely proud of the high quality of service we provide to our users. When you provide exceptionally responsive customer support to owners and guests at a fair price, your customer base grows. We started in the Aspen/Snowmass resort area almost 3 years ago, and we have been expanding there since we introduced our resort-centric HSIS."

ResortInternet Provides Unique High Speed Internet Service to Tenderfoot Lodge in Keystone, Colorado

DENVER, CO - June 30, 2003 - ResortInternet a new provider of high speed Internet service (HSIS) in Summit and Eagle Counties announced today that it completed installation of its dependable and cost-effective high speed Internet service at Tenderfoot Lodge in Keystone. "The Tenderfoot HOA Board selected ResortInternet's program because of its cost-effective pricing and its unique feature of providing the service only to those homeowners who want the HSIS- and not forcing it on those that don't," according to Russ Camp, Tenderfoot HOA President. Almost 35% of the homeowners at Tenderfoot subscribed to the service, he added.

ResortInternet is a joint venture between EGP, LLP, headed by Eric Geis a telecom executive with over 25 years of experience and a founder of Rhythms NetConnections previously one of the largest providers of DSL service in the country, and Wavelength Commercial Communications an 18 year old Denver based company providing cable, satellite & wireless systems in Colorado. ResortInternet provides its high speed internet services to HOAs, resorts and lodges. ResortInternet installs the equipment, configures the connection to the Internet and provides a Complete Customer Support Package for its customers. The company has recently signed agreements for providing its services in Breckenridge and Beaver Creek in addition to Keystone.

According to Eric Geis President of ResortInternet, the company was established because of the lack of viable cost-effective high speed Internet service in the Summit & Eagle county and surrounding areas. He said, "after spending 25 years in this industry, and not finding viable solutions for high speed Internet service, I became frustrated and decided to set up a company to service this region. He added "we were right, the acceptance for our unique approach, and the demand for high speed Internet has been overwhelming."

Traveling into the World of Wireless

Wednesday, June 6, 2007

by Stephanie Buss

Sky-Hi Daily News

Travelers are looking for a chance to get away, but they also want to stay connected. And Internet access at coffee shops and libraries doesn't cut it anymore; these days, vacationers- especially those from bigger cities- expect to have high speed right in their rooms. According to HomeAway, an online vacation rental Web site, 53% of travelers said they would likely take a laptop with them on their next vacation; 40 percent said they already do.

That's why some lodging and rental companies are hooking up with wireless Internet. Kristy Meyer, owner and general manager of Teverbaugh Heaton Management Company/Beaver Village Condominiums, said although the number is difficult to quantify, she is definitely seeing more guests bringing in laptops. That's why last September, the company decided to install high-speed Internet access in 75 percent of its condos.

"We're seeing more people requesting to stay in condos with high speed internet," Meyer said. "And what we're finding is even kids are bringing their laptops and doing their homework (on them), things like that. It's not just business people, it's kids in school, or people wanting to keep up with e-mails..."

Meyer added that in the last year especially, it became apparent that customers wanted and needed wireless access. The growing trend has made it more of a priority for her company to make that available. Now 152 units out of 200 use ResortInternet, a company that offers high-speed Internet service to resort lodges and Homeowners Associations (HOAs) in Colorado's destination resorts.

"That's been very helpful in our marketing," Meyer said, referring to the new amenity being offered. "And we're hoping everyone comes on board in the near future... As time goes on, I think it's going to be more and more important. I think it gives us a competitive advantage right now."

John Erwin, a Fraser Valley resident who owns condos at Beaver Village, recently was hired on part time as account manager for ResortInternet. He feels the wireless industry in Grand County is getting bigger, and rentals that don't offer access are missing out. Before working for ResortInternet, Erwin was president of the Beaver Village HOA, and he played an integral part in getting the HOA on board with high-speed access. He felt the new amenity would bring in more revenue, so he sent out a survey to homeowners and asked what they thought of having the service installed. Fifty-five percent responded.

"One person wrote, 'Get it done yesterday please,'" Erwin said. "Another one said, 'I don't want it, my grandkids want it. They won't visit me without it.'" "Teenagers rule the roost," he added. "It's like the terrain park (at Winter Park Resort). High speed Internet is the terrain park."

ResortInternet has 4,750 condos and 145 condo complexes hooked up with wireless Internet throughout Snowmass, Copper, Keystone, Vail, Eagle and Beaver Creek. Some ski towns have even taken it a step further- like Vail- which signed up to provide wireless Internet throughout the entire town about a year ago. Grand County still has a long way to go, but the trend is trying to catch on. The Iron Horse Resort Condominiums at Winter Park Resort, for example, which has 127 units, is planning to install ResortInternet this summer.

"The traveling public today expects to find Internet at their destination," said Tom Cummins, vice president of the HOA at Iron Horse Resort. "I travel a great deal, and it's something we have come to expect. Students use laptops for their studies," he added, "and business folks need it to check e-mails and stay connected with their office.

MeadowRidge, located in Fraser, recently sent out a survey to its HOA to see if they desire wireless; the complex has about 243 units and 26 buildings. Its current HOA president, Jim Cartwright, is hoping homeowners will get on board.

"Many people choose rental units that have Internet connection," Cartwright said. "Then again, I have one neighbor who's an Internet specialist, and he thinks it's the stupidest thing on earth," he added, laughing. "His wife, for example, didn't want to bring up her laptop because she wanted to stay away from it (while she was on vacation). So I don't know what's going to happen... But I recognize the fact that the Internet is a big thing, so I would hope that it would pass."

But while wireless may be a hot commodity, providing some type of Internet access is a goal many rental and lodging companies are willing to undertake. Diann Butler is the owner and president of Destination West, a lodging company that rents units spread out throughout the county. As of now, a high percentage of the company's rental units do have Internet access, but one of its summer projects this year is to increase that percentage. She agreed there are more renters today asking for Internet service.

"...One of our goals this year is to make all our properties Internet accessible," Butler said. "...We feel it's an advantage. It's definitely becoming an amenity that people need to have so they can go on vacation and still be reachable by Internet."

Sue Neumann, director of the Winter Park Call Center, handles reservations for several different divisions, including Zephyr Mountain Lodge, the Vintage and Central Reservations. Newman said she's noticed in the last year that more visitors are requesting Internet access. "Winter Park Resort already offers Internet in most of its rentals, such as the Vintage and Zephyr Mountain Lodge, and the upcoming buildings, Fraser's Crossing and Founders Pointe, will have Internet access as well," she said.

"It's becoming more important to our guests- unfortunately we can't leave work behind," Neumann said. "Providing (Internet) access is something travelers have come to expect."

But Neumann said she's not certain guests are as concerned with wireless at this point. "We still tell people they're coming on vacation," she said.

"...But that can change."
